What I Do
I help parents and educators, who struggle to help their child(ren) to achieve a love of science, technology, engineering and maths by providing a fun and relaxed learning environment.
There is a need for people to work in STEM careers to support our increasingly online world as well as support our planet. And yet there is a big gap of people to fulfill those needs. I believe we start with our children, help them to love science, technology, engineering and maths and they will want to do those careers and make a real difference to our society’s future.
My methods are based around the belief that we learn best when we are engaged. I believe that we get engagement from fun and enjoying the task. The clubs I run are a positive environment where we look at making games and completing projects as individuals and within small groups.
My goal is to inspire children to enjoy STEM and support the parents and educators to keep that going in the home and at school.
Coding Club is a fun relaxed group environment where children work on an individual computer and complete projects they find engaging.
We start with the level that your child is at, usually with an easy to use block based language called Scratch. Sharing ideas and knowledge in the group.
Within STEM club we explore projects related to science, technology, engineering and maths either individually or in small groups. The focus is on a practical fun project such as making a Balloon Powered Car or decipher codes to virtually escape the room!
On a 1:1 basis either online or visiting your home, I support your child with a subject that they're currently finding challenging.
I especially love maths and an enthusiastic approach can trigger the transformation of your child from hating maths to enjoying it and making progress!
